The sun was shining through the gates of Castle Blatná. A beautiful, peaceful place of culture – owned by the Germenis-Hildprandt family. Our host Stephanos Germenis-Hildprandt organizes monthly events at the Castle, featuring culturally diverse music.
At this month’s event, on the 31st of July, we had the fortunate opportunity to see and hear the Donau Philharmonie Wien (Donau Philharmonic Orchestra Vienna) perform. Their conductor, Manfred Müssauer is well known for his virtuosity, passion and dedication to promote works of music which should not be forgotten, and he rejuvenates them with his characteristically vivid interpretations.
The evening’s special performing guest, was Katica Illényi, the Hungarian, violinist and singer who is internationally recognised for her exceptional talent, rigour and creativity. Katica took centre stage to wow the crowd with her harmonic melodies and expertise on both the violin and Theremin, igniting numerous rounds of tremendous applause from the crowd. With her talent and skill set she has received numerous awards and accolades during her career.
Besides the magnificent musical experience, those who attended basked in the hot evening sun, providing a backdrop to insightful conversation and great memories. This event was open to the public and was attended by around 400 people. Among the attendees were honorable guests – H.E. Mrs. Rosaura Leonora Rueda Gutiérrez, Ambassador of Mexico, H.E. Mrs. Sundus Omar Ali Albayraqdar, Ambassador of Iraq, and H.E. Mrs. Virginia Hesse, Ambassador of Ghana.
Event partners, along with the Prague Society were – the Donau Philharmonie Wien, Oh my deer café, Blatenská Ryba, Ticketstream and the Embassy of Greece.
